Katya Brown with The Ivy cocktail, The Angels Share

Wednesday September 9th was our eldest daughter's 21st birthday and what better place to take her for a celebratory lunch, than to The Ivy Norwich Brasserie.

The Clover Queen cocktail from The Ivy Norwich

    We started with cocktails:

    • Angel's Share – packed with flavour. This take on a Mojito combines kumquats and kaffir lime leaves with Havana Especial Rum.
    • Candy Floss Fizz – Fairy floss and Prosecco complemented with Lanique Rose Petal Liqueur, lychee, ginger and Havana Club 3yr old Rum.
    • Clover Queen – a local take on a classic Clover Club cocktail fit for a Warrior Queen, with our Boadicea Gin Rosa, lemon juice, raspberry syrup and egg white.

And for the driver (Matt!) a special Elderflower Garden – with Seedlip Garden AEcorn Dry non-alcoholic aperitif, elderflower cordial and Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic, garnished with cucumber ribbon and edible flowers.

Then a delicious lunch of goats curd with radicchio, prawn and squid, rib-eye on the bone dry-aged, grass-fed, UK rib-eye steak, plus chicken milanese: brioche-crumbed chicken breast with shaved asparagus, radish, mixed herbs, green pesto and herb mayonnaise – so very delicious.

The Japanese Warrior cocktail from The Ivy Norwich

    More cocktails:

    • Japanese Warrior with our Boadicea Gin Classic, yuzu juice, hibiscus and Fever-Tree Lemonade.
    • Felbrigg Gardens with Wyborowa Vodka, elderflower cordial, cucumber, apple and lime, topped with Aspall Cyder.

    Then to finish... Pudding!

    • The must-have 'chocolate bombe' – melting chocolate bombe with a vanilla ice cream and honeycomb centre with hot salted caramel sauce.
    • Mini chocolate truffles – with a liquid salted caramel centre.
    • Camembert.
Cocktail menu at The Ivy Norwich

Everything was seriously delicious and we couldn't recommend the staff highly enough. The Ivy Norwich Brasserie is a wonderful treat which we hope to be able to hold food and drinks pairing events at again in 2021. And in the meantime, we'll just enjoying popping back for another feast of food and cocktails very soon.🍸
